The irony of the Information Age is that it has created more channels for disinformation than ever before. Hostile actors have a huge range of options to draw on as they look for ways to spread instability, deception and influence. Governments can use official statements, state-run media, unofficial websites, subservient “experts”, deniable internet trolls and massive botnets to spread their messages. How do they fit together, how do they work, and how can they be exposed?
